Allow Me to Introduce Myself Jason Kucera, September 15, 2023October 25, 2023 I can tell you that just a few years ago I could have cared less about Disney anything. Disney movies. Disney cartoons. Disney theme parks. They were all out of my thoughts. I held nearly zero emotional connection to much that had to do with Disney products. Why? Partly because we never went to Walt Disney World or Disneyland when I was a child. My only real recollection of Disney music, movies, or cartoons in our home during the 1980s and early 1990s came from the old The Magical World of Disney evening shows or movies. Growing up in Texas, we just were not a Disney family. Sad, I know! Even as a young father, while serving in the U.S. Army, Disney Way wasn’t a road I would travel down for quite some time. This all changed for me when I finally got bit by the mouse late in my Army career when my youngest son was born. Maybe due to Disney content becoming easier to access along with the growth of Disney content creators on YouTube showing us what we were missing out on. So, we made our first family trip to Walt Disney World in the summer of 2016 as I was about to retire from my military service. I can remember very well how it felt the first time I boarded a Magical Express bus, and then seeing the WDW greeting sign along World Dr. We don’t ever forget that, do we? I don’t think it was that moment, maybe a culmination of our trip, but I knew I was done for. I knew The Walt Disney Co. would be getting more of my money than it should. Since that first trip, life events have gone in various directions. Some not so great, some superb but the jest of it is I became a single father raising an autistic son on my own. I’d be dishonest with myself, and you, if I didn’t acknowledge the role Disney magic has played in our journey to heal from a difficult time. To such a point, I’m seriously a softy while watching some of our favorite movies (Olaf melting? Who wouldn’t get wet eyes?! Rapunzel and Flynn harmonizing in Tangled!) and evening firework displays over Cindy at the Magic Kingdom (or catching a live stream from my favorite YouTube channel). We’ve watched so many wonderful movies, new and old. We enjoy classic Disney content on Disney+. We’ve taken three more trips to WDW staying in various resorts. In 2021, we finally got a Disneyland trip in, as well. I was even hired by WDW as a park photographer, though, I never got to report for duty (sad face—you’ll hear more on that eventually). We officially are a Disney family. At some point, we will relocate from Texas to Florida to join my friend, and fellow content creator on this very website, and further wrap ourselves in pixie dust. So, why are you here? What was the hook that captured your heart leading to countless WDW and DL trips or saving, preparing for your first-ever trip? I would really love to hear all about it!We plan to bring a fun, different viewpoint, and vibe to our content covering not only Disney theme parks, but also Universal theme parks, and other area attractions around Central Florida, Texas, along with entertainment discussions. Something very important to us and why we even wanted to start sharing information with others has a lot to do with our sons. My partner in crime has two special needs sons, as well. He’s been traversing WDW and cruise ships with his sons for many years and has quite a bit of experience that can help other families with super kids like our own. So, when it comes to thinking about taking a trip, you can stop being cautious and travel with confidence. We have ideas, we have experience, and we want to share! Let’s build a community that can help all of us enjoy the nearly indescribable experience of entering Magic Kingdom for the first time or helping a dad get his child onto a plane for the first time. Everyone deserves a chance to experience new places, meet new faces, and witness a sunset from a beach. We’re looking forward to bringing a lot of content your way and hearing what you’ve got to say!
